Katoomba

262km driven.

This morning we found some breakfast, then checked out and drove around Newcastle a bit. We stopped at Fort Scratchley (Scratchley also built Fort Largs and Fort Glanville), which was fairly interesting and had a great view in all directions.

After which we started driving. It was essentially a boring, motorway drive south into the outskirts of Sydney and then up into the mountains. We're staying at the Hydro Majestic on the western side of Katoomba, and which is generally very nice but showing its age in some places. We were going to go for a drive, but the weather worsened and fluctuated.

In the evening we drove into Katoomba and walked up and down, eventually settled on a Tibetan restaurant.
