We all somehow woke early today. That gave us plenty of time to have breakfast, get organized and take the scenic route to Rivers Head. We were still early and sat around a fair while before the ferry turned up.
It was 45 minutes or so to the jetty in front of the Kingfisher Bay Resort. Although it was early, nobody had been in our unit the previous night, so we could get in, unpack, and have lunch.
With the car unloaded and sorted, we headed off to Lake McKenzie. The first part of the drive was easy on packed sand. Then it was pretty rocky until we got to the lake - which was unexpectedly packed with people.
After a while we carried on, over even bouncier roads, to the central station. There were a few old buildings but we walked down to the creek.
After this we made our way back to the unit. Relaxed, had a drink then went to the Sand Bar for a pleasant, casual dinner.
