278km driven.
Niki, Teresa and Tony had to head back to Brisbane about 6am as it's Monday - but we were able to get up at a more civilised hour.
We headed south and stopped at Yamba, approximately half way. It was a nice town, essentially a little coastal fishing/holiday town but with a sprawling development extending along the wide Clarence River and various branches.
Then we pressed on to Coffs Harbour. Naturally our first stop was here:
There is a large cafe, shop, plantation and waterslides etc. But the standout feature was that the actual banana wasn't that big and it was very anticlimactic.
From there we drove into town to get some lunch. It was actually quite hard to find a cafe area and when we did, it was 2pm and most of them were closing. We ended up going to Coles and buying some food, then driving to our hotel to have lunch.
We're staying at Korora Beach which is in a valley a little north of the actual town. Smugglers on the Beach is one of those resorts you imagine was built in the 1970s, its glory now faded. Which makes it cheaper.
After a break we walked around the area and the small beach a stone's throw from our apartment.
