658km today.
We were woken fairly early this morning by other people leaving. This got us up and out, to find that there was a town-wide power cut for most of the day. This meant no petrol and very few breakfast options (and then only what we could buy with cash). So we got an iced coffee and started driving east.
From Innamincka to Brisbane is called the Adventure Way. Lynn suggested it should be called the Boring Way, as it's straight and flat. There is really very little of anything, just the landscape gradually shading from open grassland to native forest and, close to Towoomba, to fields. So no photos today.
In Bollon there was overpriced food and only hi-flow diesel, which I couldn't use. So we got some snacks and drove on to St George, which was a decent size and where we could finally get fuel and walk along the river to stretch our legs. Then the remaining few hours to Towoomba.
We got to our hotel about 5pm. It's spacious and clean, and we were able to freshen up then go find some Thai food. We're staying here tomorrow, too.
